6U
The 6U program is for girls who have completed Learn to Skate and their first Learn to Play class (Future Wings or similar) but are not old enough for 8U, primarily newer 2019 and 2020 birth year players.
The team will practice with 8U and will enter into 6U specific events throughout the season, so long as it has the appropriate numbers. These would include MAHA Jamborees, scrimmages with other mini mite programs, and other events as found by coaches and manager.
The program is a "lighter" version of 8U. They will participate in fewer events than 8U (specifically, will not participate in MGHL league and will not participate in Mite State Cup). Some ice will be pulled throughout the year for 8U MGHL League games. If 8U skates 60 times during the season, expect 6U to skate about 40 times (estimates for both).
Ages
Starting in March 2026 (for 2026 - 2027 season), 6U would be 2020 and younger birth year girls
